EVERYDAY + EVERYONE
Songs:
Camp song circle is a long tradition from the songs we sing to the dances we do.
Small Groups:
After breakfast to discuss Vespers or other activities and lessons. Groups sorted by grade level.
Beach Time:
Every day we go to the beach. Occasionally a red flag may prevent us from swimming, but we always find a way to have fun.
Vespers:
An evening prayer and lesson by the cross.
Cabin Awards:
From the cleanest to the dirtiest, every cabin, usually, has a shot at winning.
Evening Activity:
Varies by day. Monday is usually an all camp ground scavenger hunt type activity. Tuesday is s'mores. Wednesday is a trip up the sand dune followed by bonfire at the beach. Thursday is Skit Night. Friday is the Consecration Ceremony.

Archery
Archery is the art, practice, or skill of propelling arrows with the use of a bow, from "arcus" (thanks Wikipedia). But really, hopefully you get it...shooting arrows with a bow. Pretty cool. Where else are you going to get to do this? |
|
Batik
Use dyes and wax to design the coolest picture you can. |
|
Camp Cooking
Learn to cook over a campfire or other unique, fun items. Campers have made pizza on a stick, ice cream, and other delicious things. Yum. |
|
Candle Making
Looking for a keepsake that will bring back great memories of Hug Camp? This class gives you the opportunity to make at least 2 different kinds of candles to take home at the end of the week. We’ll be doing gel candles and either ice candles or layered candles. Pick your own colors, beads and sand from our supplies to make your own, unique item. Bonus: Guys, the girls really like this class – come join us! |
|
Crafts
Ready or not, it’s time to get crafty. We will be making your choice of vase or light holder decorated with tissue paper. Don’t worry if you are not a crafty person; this requires no skill beyond cutting and gluing! These would make great presents for birthday, Mother’s Day, or even Christmas. Our back-up crafts are God’s Eyes and mini-candle holders |
|
Flag Football
The great game of football without the risk of injury. Campers will use flags instead of physical contact and a smaller pigskin. A perfect activity for the competitive camper. |
|
Friendship Bracelets
A relaxing hour making a camp essentials, bracelets. Make one for yourself, friends, your name tag, or whoever! |

|
Spongeball
This is a HUG Camp original. It's like dodgeball, with buckets of water and sponges. It's a great way to cool off during the summer and have lots of fun. |
|
Ultimate Frisbee
A cross between soccer, football, frisbee, and tons of fun. This fast paced sport has campers running around and competing against another team. Thank goodness there is time at the beach to cool off afterwards. |
|
Volleyball
The very popular sand volleyball court lies outside of Marshall Hall ready for games. It does not matter your skill level, there is lots of fun to be had. |
|
Waterball
Another hybrid sport that crosses baseball and, well, your backyard swimming pool. It is an ideal way to cool off at camp on a beautiful summer day. |
|
